    For nearly twenty years, Kristen has helped employers identify and mitigate legal risk with thoughtful legal compliance. She advises employers on a broad range of employment matters, including hiring, termination, severance agreements, discrimination and harassment, retaliation, performance management, discipline, wage and hour issues, leave compliance, accommodations and the interactive process. 

    Kristen works with a broad range of businesses, including Fortune 500 companies, public entities, technology companies (both start-up and established), healthcare organizations, and nonprofits.  An adept listener, she seeks the facts and circumstances underlying her client’s concerns and then uses legal expertise, creativity, and tenacity to find effective solutions.

    Kristen is also a skilled workplace investigator. Having represented employers in litigation, she is able to navigate complicated workplace issues including harassment, discrimination, and retaliation complaints, pay complaints, and unsafe and hostile work environment issues. 

    Kristen holds a JD from the University of San Francisco and a degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley. She is a member of the California Bar and an Association of Workplace Investigators certificate holder. Though she enjoys the law, Kristen’s true loves are her children, husband and unruly dogs.

    Kristi has represented companies in employment, labor, and product disputes for seventeen years.  Her experience includes all aspects of employment law, focusing on advice, counsel, and investigations for California businesses.

    At Compass, Kristi’s practice includes counsel for employers on reductions in force, employee terminations, agreements, policies, handbooks, audits, FMLA and CFRA issues, and EEOC and FEHA charges.  She conducts workplace investigations of discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, disabilities, termination, leaves, and trade secrets on a state and federal level.  She has experience with litigation of California wage and hour class actions and FLSA collective actions, California discrimination cases under FEHA and CFRA, and federal discrimination cases, including ADEA, FMLA, ADA, and Title VII claims.  

    Kristi’s industry experience includes technology, consumer products, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and healthcare for companies in all stages of growth. She is relationship-driven and focused on promoting healthy work environments. 

    Kristi is a member of the California Bar with a JD from the University of San Diego and a degree in history from Princeton University.  She is also an Association of Workplace Investigators certificate holder. Outside the law, Kristi is a passionate parent, tennis player, skier, and advocate for families with T1D.
